The visit of prof. Óscar Luengo from the University of Granada

Last week, at the invitation of the Vice-Dean, prof. Magdalena Musiał-Karg, prof. Óscar Luengo from the University of Granada was a guest at our faculty.

The professor presides over the Political Communication Research Commission (RC22) of the International Association of Political Sciences and is a well-known researcher of political communication, election campaigns and the phenomenon of populism. As a part of his visit to Poznan, he gave two lectures: the first one entitled 'Populism as a challenge to the European democracies' took place on the 13 of May. It was open for everyone and met with lively interest. The second lecture - "Campaigns and political communication" - took place the following day and was prepared exclusively for students and lecturers of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences. Professor Luengo presented a number of issues related to creating and conducting election campaigns.

During his visit, prof. Óscar Luengo also took part in the Great Gala of Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences. The professor was a guest here last year too - as lecturer at the summer school in the field of Public Governance. Next year, he will also teach at our faculty.

Lectures by prof. Óscara Luengo were realized thanks to the financial support of the City of Poznań and were co-financed by the faculty. On the part of our faculty,  in charge of organizing abovementioned lectures was Dr Marcin Łukaszewski.
