About Faculty

The Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań was established in 2008, following the transformation of the Institute of Political Science and Journalism.

Today, the Faculty offers programs in seven fields of study: Political science, International relations, Journalism and social communication, National security, State management, Audiovisual production, and New media in communication. In addition, the Faculty’s academic offerings include doctoral programs, postgraduate studies, and various courses.

Budynek WNPiD

Just before the new Faculty was established, a modern building located on the Morasko Campus was opened. Since the 2007/2008 academic year, classes have been held there. The building is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and fully adapted for modern teaching, meeting the highest educational standards. Facilities include a television studio, radio studio, computer labs, and a library. Among the 16 multimedia rooms, the largest is the auditorium, which can accommodate nearly 300 people.

More than 4,000 students—both full-time and part-time—study at the Faculty, supported by a team of over 150 researchers working across 17 departments. In addition to academic staff, the Faculty also employs accomplished professionals in areas such as typesetting, digital processing, and editing, who provide students with practical knowledge and skills.

The Faculty hosts seven student-run media outlets, ranging from print (Bardzo Uniwersyteckie CzasopismoFenestra), to online platforms (Sic! E-gazeta studencka, Student Photo Agency), to radio (Radio Meteor) and television (Flesz, Kurier Akademicki).

Students can further pursue their academic interests through ten student research groups and contribute to seven scientific journals. Additionally, the Faculty organizes dozens of academic conferences each year, including international events.
