COOPERATION WITH CITY OF POZNAŃ

In the second half of 2023, the Democratic Innovations research group cooperated with the City of Poznań to organize public consultations in the area of Łacina in Poznań on the topic of a new planned public space in the neighbourhood.

Students of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism were included in the cooperation through participation in a facultative course on the topic of practical aspects of civic participation (Partycypacja Obywatelska w Praktyce). Students were able to take part in the organization of public consultations, participate in an intercollegiate contest for the arrangement of the public space and conduct an internship in cooperation with a local non-governmental organization (PISOP).

As part of the public consultations, street surveys were conducted between 6 – 19th of November 2023 among the residents of the neighbourhood. An additional online survey was also disseminated to reach the largest possible number of respondents. In December 2023, resident meetings were organized, and World Café discussions were moderated by the Democratic Innovations team and facilitated by students of AMU.

The cooperation with the City of Poznań ended with the submission of a report from public consultations which summarized the findings of the surveys and resident discussions.
