On April 22, 2025, Prof. Paulina Pospieszna participated in an event organized by the global network Democracy R&D, dedicated to the presentation of the annual report “The Year in Deliberation 2024.” This report marks an important step in documenting global trends in the development of deliberative democracy – from the impact of citizens' assemblies, through new resources, to emerging challenges such as the application of artificial intelligence in deliberative processes.

Prof. Paulina Pospieszna played a dual role in this initiative:

· She co-authored a section of the report focused on research into the impact of citizens' assemblies, sharing a conceptual framework developed within the i4i (Integrating for Impact) project for analyzing three dimensions of impact: political, policy, and polity (institutional).

· She also participated as a panelist during the event, presenting the main challenges related to measuring the impact of citizens' assemblies and proposing approaches to help practitioners better combine comprehensive impact assessments with practical insights.

The event brought together deliberative democracy experts, practitioners, and researchers from around the world. Prof. Pospieszna’s participation also provided an opportunity to promote the research conducted within the Democratic Innovations team. The report is available here.
