PHD Ewa Zielińska from the Democratic Innovations research team at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, took part - at the invitation of Professor Urszula Kurczewska - in a seminar titled “Social Innovations in Counteracting Climate Change.” The event was organized by the Department of General Sociology, Collegium of Socio-Economics, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). It took place on 30 May 2025 as part of the Jean Monnet Module project “EU: European values and ethics in politics and economy.”
The aim of the discussion panel “Grassroots Initiatives and Civic Engagement in Counteracting Climate Change” was to explore how bottom-up initiatives - such as the actions of activists and civil society organizations - can contribute to the implementation of more sustainable models of local democracy, consumption, production, or shared use of resources.
