Between 23th and 25th September, a closing meeting for the first phase of the "Common Ground" project took place in Berlin. The project is run by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, a German foundation that supports projects involving society in local decision-making. The "Common Ground" which has been running since 2022, aims to support local, cross-border projects aimed at strengthening the participation of local communities living in German border areas in decision-making on spatial planning, cultural initiatives, and even energy. Dr. Marta Hoffmann, a member of the "Democratic Innovations" research group, attended the Berlin meeting on behalf of Professor Paulina Pospieszna. Dr. Hoffmann participated in a panel aimed at examining the challenges and opportunities related to the development of the "Common Ground" project. Apart from summarizing achievements and experience, the Berlin meeting also marked the beginning of the next phase of the project, which will be focused on strengthening and maximizing the potential and impact of ongoing initiatives.
