Deputy Deans prof. Maciej Walkowski and prof. Radoslaw Fiedler, as a part of an academic grant, visited the College of Social Sciences (社會科學學院) of the NCCU, National Chengchi University (國立政治大學) in Taipei, Taiwan, between the 19th and 25th of February.
Aside from the previously planned presentations, the professors participated in a roundtable seminar with the NCCU’s faculty and executive staff. Conversations were held with the CSS NCCU Deputy Dean Prof. Brian Pai Jen-Te 白仁德, Deputy Dean CSS NCCU Prof. Kuan Ping-Yin 關秉寅, Prof. Liu Mei-Chun 劉梅君, Prof. Jack Wu Wen-Chieh 吳文傑, Prof. Lin Lao-Sheng 林老生, Prof. Frank Ning Fang-Shii 寧方璽 oraz Prof. Vance Lo Kuang-Ta 羅光達. During the roundtable, they discussed cooperation possibilities within three primary fields: research cooperation, academic staff and students exchange, and joint educational projects. An important part of the discussions also concerned the adaptation of Polish and European higher education systems to the demands of internationalization, as well as the comparison between the current system in Poland and academic practice in South-East Asia and Taiwan. Another active participant of the seminar was our faculty member prof. Tomasz R. Szymczynski, who is currently doing his academic apprenticeship at NCCU. It is worth noting that our mutual cooperation is rapidly advancing. In the second half of April 2019, the Faculty will enjoy a visit from NCCU’s scholars.
