Foreign language classes

It concerns BA students.
From the summer semester freshmen need to take 120 hours of foreign language classes (30 hours per semester). Lectures for stationary students are provided by the UAM Language School.

ECTS points

During your studies you collect ECTS points. In the course of the year, you need a pool of 60 points, or credits (30 per semester). Each class has a certain number of points assigned to it.

Physical Education

It concerns BA students.
As a freshman you have to register for the physical education course provided by the School of Physical Education and Sport at the University. You can choose from more than 30 different sports. You can register in the same way as with the USOSweb.

Academic Sport

Interested in sports at a higher level? The university offers 35 academic sport sections. UAM students can compete in National Student Championships and other tournaments.

Safety and Health Training

During the first semester of studying you must take the Safety and Health Induction. The course and a test are on the Moodle platform and you can log on in the same way you do it at the USOSweb. More information in November.

Surveys

After each semester, student satisfaction surveys are put on the USOSweb platform. At the end of each semester, long on the USOSweb platform and complete the survey.

Polish Language and Culture Study Center for Foreigners

Foreigners taking their study courses in Polish need to complete a language course. Classes are provided by the Polish Language and Culture Study Center for Foreigners, which is a part of the Institute of Polish Philology at the University. For undergraduate and graduate students studying in English, the required number of Polish language courses is 60 hours (during the studies).
Students - foreigners attending the Polish language course are obliged to obtain credits (grades) as well as to take a final examination in the Polish language confirmed by the entry in the USOSweb system. Polish language courses cannot be exchanged for courses in another modern language

Equipment rental

Being a student of our Faculty, you can use journalist equipment (e.g. cameras, audio recorders, microphones). After training, you can use a recording studio (Mac computer lab, radio studio, post-production studio 5.1 and TV studio). For detailed rules, dates and procedures see: studio.wnpid.amu.edu.pl

Scholarships

In the course of your studies, you can apply for scholarship (rector scholarship for best students) and welfare scholarship (welfare scholarship, special scholarships for disabled people, welfare support, accommodation in Student Dormitory). To qualify, you need to meet all required conditions.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is a programme that allows you to make scholarship trips to one of 90 universities in 17 countries. Trips abroad are available from the second year on, but you may apply already at your first year of studying. The first induction meeting will be held in January.

Support for students with disabilities

Our university runs the Support Office for Students with Disabilities that coordinates a series of activities to support this particular group of students. Students with disabilities can apply for welfare scholarships, adjustments of the learning process to their needs, support of an assistant/sign language interpreter.
